Bucks Beautiful hosts 31st Annual Kitchen & Garden Tour

Posted

Bucks Beautiful is pleased to host the 31st Kitchen & Garden Tour on Sunday June 14, from 11 am-4 pm, rain or shine. On this walking tour, visit six hidden jewels tucked away throughout the charming streets of historic Doylestown borough.  Marvel at remodeled kitchens and lovingly tended landscapes. Bucks County Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer expertise as you peruse woodland gardens, wildflower meadows, specimen trees, beloved perennials, colorful annuals and more!

Homes on this year’s tour include an award-winning landscape architect’s 1870 Victorian residence and renovated barn on a wooded lot with an aviary garden and wildflower meadow; a craftsman home with a reimagined version of the 1985 Philadelphia Flower Show’s Best of Show exhibit “Christine’s Garden;” an 1875 Victorian, patiently restored with a newly remodeled kitchen and surrounded by native plant gardens; a colonial revival home with varied outdoor spaces such as a rock garden with native prickly pears, stepping stones through a wetland garden, a pathway through meadow plants and tranquil woodland garden; and a modern home adorned by a forest glade of rolling sedges and low flowering herbs surrounded by a backdrop of boulders and native shrubs.

Early birds catch the worm with discounted ticket prices of $45 until May 31 after which tickets will be $50.  Included with your ticket purchase is a program with maps, photos, and descriptions of each garden, plus a garden gift bag.  Shutterbugs can feel free to click away to take home some inspiration.

Want free tickets?  Become a Bucks Beautiful member and receive complimentary tour admission plus exclusive access from 10 to 11 am.  Gardens will open to non-members at 11 am.   Proceeds will benefit our community grant program.
