On Wednesday May 28, two graduating seniors received $1,000 from the Central Bucks-Central Bucks High School West Hall of Fame Committee (CBW HOF) at the school’s annual awards ceremony. Henry Hunt, CB West Athletic Director, presented the scholarships to Doylestown residents, Erica Madden and Roman Kulesa. The students were selected on the merits of their essays on the role of athletics in their lives. As the winners of HOF’s essay contest, each graduate will use the award toward their college expenses. This was HOF’s twentieth annual scholarship award to an outstanding male and female athlete upon their graduation.
Erica Madden competed in basketball, soccer, and track and field. Sports credits her with fostering “ . . . Community, meaningful friendships, independence and responsibility. . . which built strong character.” In the fall she will attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
Roman Kulesa, who will attend the University of Tampa in Florida, competed in basketball where his determination to “make varsity” taught him “ . . . valuable leadership skills, confidence, and the importance of relationships.”
The Hall of Fame was established for the purpose of recognizing CB-CB High School West Alumni whose athletic participation resulted in exemplary and record-holding accomplishments. The Twenty-third Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will be scheduled in 2026.
